Got Kinda Owned

Had such a rough day. So many tough spots, so much 3betting. Regs at NL50 r definately more agressive. Guna take me a while to adjust my strategy.

Can you fold this? Was against a loose player too...Check flop as nothing worse will call, and I hoped it would look like I had a pair that got scared by A to induce a bluff.

Strange hand here. the donk on flop makes me believe he has no A, didnt put him on the flush after he calls 3bet. Though poorley played QQ JJ TT or something that didnt think i had A. He was a noob also. Hero call of faliure:

I suck out here... why he 3bets 77 against my utg i dont know. weird hand anyway, thought i was trapping as he was an agressive 3better.

Looks like luke could win the bet without playing a hand!

Average First Day of Bet

Had a swingy day, up a few then down a few buy ins. Just in general lame stuff like KK into AA, combo draws missing etc. Had some kool hands though...

Had a great cooler:

Here is the reverse then. He had a PFR of 5% so i called pre to crack, putting him on an overpair.

This would have been a good hand to hold up

Played this KK funky. Thought he was 3betting me light so went for trap. I assume i was right given action but it all works out.
Really put this guy on a KQ type hand. Went for max value...

Movin on Up

Moved up to NL50 today. Only played for a couple hours but made $230. Huge fish online and i was hitting cards to stack them. I got my bet starting with luke tomorow so hopefully this continues... $100 to the most earned from 15 nov to 15 dec.

A good call that holds up.

Massive cooler. Talk about run good

I gotta new account on Tilt to get the bonus and some rakeback. Transfered across $600 via a new credit card on as that was the max amount. Will put the other $350 on when i can. So my exact starting roll for the bet is:

Casino Trip #2

Another casino visit, and ive got rid of the negative bankroll sign. Was a pretty busy night with it being showday tomorow, and they were running some freeroll lottery. Sat at the same table as luke, we were pretty much oposite each other, a didnt clash at all. I played REALLY tight, tighter than i had planned but was pretty much card dead in between the few premium hands i picked up. Makes it easy to blog though cause i only played a few hands...

Hand 1: 1 hour into play, just rebought $20 to top up.

Pre: Q8
Limped to me on button by 4 ppl, i call just hoping to hit a big hand, 2pair or trips. take a flop 5or6 handed.
Flop: 358 two diamonds
first in stabs $10, called by two people, guy next to me motions like he is guna raise and then just calls. He is a donk so im putting him on a flush, or an 8 where my kicker would most likely be good, the original stabber (luke) would of limped utg so if he has an 8 it would be from a 98 78 T8 type hand which i am way ahead of.
I raise it to $35, for value and to pick up all of the dead money. folded to dude beside me, he knows im tight but he shoves. I knew he had a flush and made the easy call. It held up! Stack to $200

Hand 2:
Pre: AA
I dont even remember how this one went down atm, but I added around $150 to my stack

Hand 3:
Pre: QQ
Limped to me on button and i raise to $15, 2 callers, limper and bb.
Flop: KJx 2spades
I c-bet in position, alot of worse hands will call and i can see where im at.
Turn: blank KJxx
he checks and i check behind, i dont think anything worse than a K calls now, he was kinda solid player, not spewy.
River: check check, add ~$80 to my stack

Hand 4:
Pre: AA
$16 raise utg by an agressive guy, his agresive friend calls, folded to me in cutoff and i raise to $50. I am deep, and want them to call and play a huge pot with my AA, where we will be commited by the flop. BB from earlier calls my $50 and the both call. (pot $220)
Flop: KTx two hearts, i c-bet like $80, that would leave the biggest stack with $150. BB calls quick other two fold. He must have a stong K in my eyes, AK most likely to call that pre raise.
Turn: blank
I put him all in, $163 to be exact, he tank calls w KQ. Just shows how the players at the casino want any reason to call. He said after the QQ hand where i checked, this bet looked bluffy! I thought my hand was pretty face up but I was poised for a huge pot.
River: KING
New biggest pot of my life and i take a huge beat again. $500 shipped to the spew monkey.

Hand 5:
Pre: AK
raised utg to $15 and i call on the button. both blinds call.
Flop: T83 two clubs
Checked to utg, he checks and i check behind.
Turn: T83K three clubs , i have A of clubs
Agressive bb bets out pot, 1 call , i call.
With the completed flush i dont want to raise after 4 ppl saw the flop, furthermore KT is a hand that they would play for sure.
River: blank
Agressive guy shoves $60. up to me and im not sure about this call. I watch him and get a good tell. He is shuffling his cards and kind of grabing them like he is real keen to show. This is a sure sign of a weak hand. So i call with my AK and he shows K7. adds $100 to stack

Hand 6:
Pre: J9
limped to me on button, limp and its 7 people to flop
Flop: 48T raindbow
agressive guy stabs early, 2 callers and i just call. Some of these players will call with anything so i dont want to semi bluff in this spot, i have position for when straight hits i can get max value.
Turn: 48T4
checked to me and i check behind now, if someone had bet i would have folded with the paired board.
River: 48T4Q
Hit the straight, agressive guy bets out $15, a caller from fish beside me. i Raise to $40 and the fish calls. He doesnt show.

I finish the night up $255. Luke got off to a bad start, but finished up huge. We were the two big winners at the table and some other lady who was crap but hit some flops. Luke went for a all in squeeze and a all in draw hand early on which both backfired, and his AA got cracked by the same guy as me. But he hit some hands later on and chipped up well, helped by his slightly crazy image im sure. I played so incredibly tight i dont know how i got paid off every hand, but it just shows how bad these players are. I just wish i had won that huge pot, coulda bought something sweet with that $500. Anyway im just happy to erase the negative bankroll, and had a good night.

Nearly There

Another good day. Only played for about 5 hours but made some more $$$. Nearly at my $1000 goal where I plan to move up. Ive been trying some new "moves" in an effort to improve my redline. My sample size is only 5k but it seems to be working. Ive gone from a steady negative gradient to break even. I think a positive redline is a little ambitious at these stakes, where there is a lot of calling stations.

Anyway ive been looking for spots to:

-Squeeze; this is nearly always out of the blinds and requires a few things. The initial raser is opening wide from cutoff/button. I have the 'steal' stat on my HUD for this. Then the caller has to be a semi descent player, ie not a fish who will call my 3bet. This play nearly works 100% and i pick up 8-10 blinds with any two cards. I think it must look very powerful to raise over two ppl. If i get a caller, ill c-bet most boards.

-Punish the sb 'completer'; i raise it up to 5bb whenever the sb completes to me and i have a top 40%ish or so hand, then c-bet any flop. Anything else and ill fire the flop if checked to. Two barreling when appropriate. People that complete the sb are VERY weak nearly always.

-CheckRaise bluff; I only do this to regs (VIP:~15-25) and its usually from the blinds if the flop looks like it doesnt hit their range. If called ill generally give up unless i have a read. This is good for image anyway. If i call on the button id rather float than c-raise, then take it if checked too. When floating i make sure to at least have overcards or a gutter.

-Raise donk bets; this is probably pretty standard but if anyone donk bets ~1/3rd pot or less i raise really big. makes it look like im "serious" i guess. I used to just call and re-evaluate turn but then they just weak donked again and id give up. Im pretty sure most people do this type of bet to "bet for information". Fire second barrel if called unless the board is very drawy in which case they r probly calling so ill evaluate on river.

-Limp pot; whenever i hit a draw or something in a limped pot i just lead straight out into people with a pot bet. fire any turn aswell if there is only one caller. they nearly always give up or i hit my draw. i used to go for c-raise or check call here and i didnt seem to work well.

aaaaaaaaaaaanyway ill keep working on these and see how it goes. my biggest leak imo is getting in a robotic state of mind and not looking for good oportunities to squeeze etc. Heres my redline atm:

Heres my setup, hopefully i look back on this oneday and laugh at my mere 4 tabling noobness:

Hands of the day...

I think this was a good fold. At the time i was thinking of the 'tagfish' article i read. Have to think about what they think I have. And my line here looked very strong. Would put me on a big Ace for sure. He still shoves river so I can only assume he hit the flush, which was disapointing after i forced him to pay so much to get to the river. I very much doubt he was playing a weaker ace like this.

This guy was fishy, and I had a note "overbet all in bluffs river". Was still a tough call but it payed off. Without the note I would of layed it down for sure.

This hand was just brutal. I missclicked the button raise to begin with, but that meant i could call his 3bet as it was so cheap. Would normally fold KQ to 3bet. He leads flop and i put him on a big pair, his 3bet% was low. Dont want to reraise my draw as he is unlikely to fold it. hit my flush, he bets kinda small. If i raise here he could find a fold with the obvious flush...I call, it looks weak, im repping a low pair here like 66 which doesnt believe he has it. i want him to value bet river, this sets up a perfect shove for me and will look bluffy. it would have worked well but he miracles river :(

Off to another Cod LAN... new CoD game comes out tonight and there is a midnight launch *nerdgasm*. The only one ive been to b4 was a world of warcraft one and it was hillarious. i shouldnt hassle nerds, cause i am totally one of them! Got another job interview tomorow too. Real sweet company so i hope it goes well. Casino wed night too. Im praying for some run good. Have to get rid of that gross negative bankroll sign.

What goes up, must go up?

boy am I regreting not settling the prop bet with luke last night. Its going to be something like most money earned at end of month wins $100 off the other guy, but we havent settled on a start date and a few terms. So anyway today I play some pokers and make a cool $250. Just had good cards and played them well.

Graph from the last two days...Will this heater ever end?

No real interseting hands so ill just show some big pots...

they were both fishy which made this an easy call.

Hellmuth would have been proud of that trap.

A fish doing what a fish does best, giving me his money:

Would love to have known his through process there...

Just a weird hand:

Have been listening to the WSOP all day to which was pretty sweet, wont spoil it ofcourse.

Now only $150 to go before ill try moving up. Gota get round to making a new account too to get some rakeback. Ive already made $600 of rake with this latest run, and 30% of that in my pocket would have been a nice bonus. Aight, off to a CoD LAN. Being a bum rocks

Boring

Finished Uni WOOT! Latest poker update is a 6k break even. Seem to win a bunch of money through a steady stream of small pots then lose a huge pot to a fish suckout every time. Cant complain though have been running good. Joel was around and was laughing at some situations i was in, oh those crazy fish!

So gross.

I think this was joels favourite hand. I check turn to him because these players ALWAYS seem to bet turn if you check it to them. How I got it all in verse this hand ill never know....

I play this hand sooooo bad. Bad flop c-bet, and river reraise (was a PL game which explains small preflop raise). Put this up as a punishment to my self for being so noob.

Final hand. Only 8 hands on the guy but he seemed bad. I never know what to do in these situations if its a decent player and he bets turn after a c-raise, normally fold. Liked this hand cause I got good value. After the check on the turn it looked like an A was his most likely holding, and he was reraising cause he has top pair! Thought my Q kicker was most often good.
If he leads turn though what do you do???
