NL100
I was guna wait a bit to move up, but being the holiday break i thought id move up now - assuming the xmas donks will b on and the tables softer.
well the difference between NL50 and NL100 seems minor. as usual the regs are more agressive with their 3betting but not by much. i been trying to float alot of their blind resteals and having some success with this.
ive had a swingy couple of days , but today was really good, i got onto a deep stack table and got my stack to $500 within 10 hands which was sweet! i flopped a stragiht with AK in a 4bet pot against a fish then got this. new biggest pot for me:
CO ($37.50)
Button ($160.30)
SB ($275.05)
Hero (BB) ($215.35)
UTG ($218.65)
MP ($184.60)
Preflop: Hero is BB with Q
, Q
1 fold, MP calls $1, CO calls $1, Button bets $5.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $18, MP calls $17, 1 fold, Button calls $12.50
Flop: ($55.50) Q
, 10
, 6
(3 players)
Hero bets $39, MP calls $39, 1 fold
Turn: ($133.50) 5
(2 players)
Hero bets $133.50, MP calls $127.60 (All-In)
River: ($388.70) 5
(2 players, 1 all-in)
Total pot: $388.70 | Rake: $3
He had TT. easy game....
So ive played 5.5k hands and am up $440 which is a pretty nice heater. i gota put in some bigger sessions but there is just too much fun stuff to do in the holidays.... like sleeping :D

3K Bankroll
after stringing together consecutive winning sessions since 12dec my BR is looking pretty nice. ive played 17k hands since moving to 8tables and my bb/100 has gone up which is weird. i just finished off my 600$ bonus too.
i been trying to do some research to find out what optimal stats should look like. mine seem pretty weird compared to most peoples. my W$SD is much bigger than normal and W%WSF slightly low. maybe it means im not agressive enough. this means my red line is really negative and blue line huge. mayb i just play an odd style. here is a graph since i started 8tabling...

my general stats show once again that PL must have worse players or something, as i dont play it any different to NL.
my position stats show im way down in the sb, possibly a leak. although looking at my hand history i have had a lot of coolers in ths spot with my big pairs. i think completing in the sb less may be optimal as its hard to win a big pot when its limped and ur oop. i wish i could figure out how to view my stats better, as id like to look at my profit when folded to in the sb and i try steal.

as u can see my stats are pretty nitty in general. i tihnk the biggest improvement to my game lately has been that i can lay down overpair hands to the minbet when i feel im beat. what i need to iomprove on is barraling and getting ppl to lay down weak hands. it just seems like whenever i think its a good spot to double barrall they call me so light...
im at 38k hands at NL50. as long as im feeling confident, ill try moving up after 50k hands. got a bit of a break off work atm so will be trying to put in a session most days.
u should post ur stats up luke so i can have a look at them

not much to say really
went to the casino torny. we start with 50bb and it was going up fast. i lost half my stack on the second orbit of PLO. Had A356 with a suited ace and limped behind 2ppl in late position. Flop of K33 is checked to me and i bet 3/4. 1 caller. i bet turn for 1/2 pot and he mumble calls. river is a K for K332K. check and he does too. has a K of course. i have like 1200 chips. soon i shove ATs in cutoff with 10bb and get blinds. shove AQ w 10bb from utg and take blinds. before i know it the blinds are 200/400 and i have 1100 still. just as it went up it was my bb and i have 55 so i call for 700more with 2 all ins infront, just hoping to get lucky and i dont. gg

Owning It
Played nearly 5k hands this weekend. Love 8 tables, its so fast. There apear to be even more morons playing, possibly due to the holiday season - and im not complaining!
Biggest pot of weekend. Villain was a standard 70VPIP fish, and I had been at his table for nearly 300hands trying to get his stack. When i finally got it it was tooo easy...
i think both these guys played the hand as badly as possible
made a really costly mistake in this hand. we area really deep and i try to play it way too fast. should have called the reraise on the flop, i had position and this would easily look like a AJ QQ KK hand. dude said he had AA. by playing it so fast i made it an easy laydown for him
Tilt: $2413 (+$350)
Stars: $222.96
Total: $2986
So close to the 3k BR but im really tired so i dont wana push it. i was having probs with my mic so i didnt record anything today, would have liked too. casino tourney tomorow should be interesting... im pretty much a tourney noob but it should be fun. have a fairly decent holiday break from work after tue so might try hit the casino up a few more times. should be lots of people on holiday coming in for a gamble :)

Huge Weekend Session
Played 9k hands this weekend. when compared to my months total before this of ~18k this was a pretty huge effort. I moved up to 8 tables and found the adjustment surprisingly easy. the side effect was i played a bit tighter with a vpip/pfr of 17/13, although playing tighter may not be a bad thing...
luke joined one of my tables for a while and had an unlucky session, lost like 3 buy ins or something. but this can only help me in the bet :)
had an intersting hand verse luke...
on the flop luke calls my c-bet and he could have anything. i check the turn cause i feel like im either way ahead or way behind. Q9 or a set were obviously likely, and betting would make most other pair hands fold. plus i know luke would float me and want to bluff so i give him the opportunity . when he bets the river and all the draws miss it was a very hard call to make. a hand like JT or just a flush draw are likely. i tank call and it was a crying call. i decided he would not bet a AQ KQ here, so it was either a set or air. he didnt raise the flop on a drawy board like a set would probably do, and im thinking luke would love to pull a move on me. 60:40 bluff:made-hand ratio so i just called. verse an unknown would fold for sure..... was a very kool hand anyway and i will admit i fist pumped when he showed the busted draw!
had another crazy hand, where i made a big laydown maybe? im super deep after a A high flush over flushed a K when we both had $100. i feel like i needed to raise the flop for value from draws or AK, but the action on the turn im sure he would not do with at least AQ+.
do u think i made the right plays here????
so anyway i guess we wait till tue to see how well/bad each of us did. i probly cant play much more and i wont get this weekends rakeback which sucks. i have no idea how lukes doing but he said he will be playing alot before tue night so good luck!

Good times...

Well timed minor downswing
Couldnt play for long today but lost 3 buyins. Got $50 in rakeback and bonus tho which helped a bit. Sooooooo should have folded this hand but he was such a huge fish :(
Looking back i think this is such an easy fold. Bad play....
The bet is guna be a close finish. Havent heard from luke in a couple days so i assume he hasnt won anymore cause he always blogs when hes winning lol.
Tilt: $1485 (+$350)
Stars: $222.96
Total: $2055
Total gain since 15 Nov= $655
Goals for Dec:
This month i think i just want to play as much as i can and get a steadier win rate at NL50. i dont feel like im "beating" this limit like i felt at NL10 or NL25.
Will put in a large session tomorow!

$2k Bank Roll
just had a nice 850 hand session and cracked the $2000 bank roll mark.
why u should squeeze with trash:
just a funny hand:
Too tight? i just cant see him doing this with less than trip Queens which i would have no fold equity. even though i have a combo draw im most likely behind and could be drawing dead. i like to just fold these marginal spots...

casino 3
went to the casino the other day. was rather uneventful and i ended up like $30 down. got a few big hands pf but kept flopping top set and crushed the board so i got no action. saw the most rediculous hand though...
agressive guy raises $7utg, alot of callers.
flop: 99K (two diamonds) ~$35 in pot
he c-bets like $5 two callers
Turn: 99K4 (two diamonds)
now he bets $10, both call again
River: 99K4K (3 flush)
first caller checks, agresser bets $25, old man raises to $50, first guy sighs and folds "i think my boat just got counterfeited" - he had a 9
agresser insta calls shows 44 for the lowest boat, old man shows a flush!
dam these people are terrible

Sick hand
Biggest NL50 hand yet and its a sicko. table was fairly tight and i was about to leave so i opened kinda loose to steal the blinds. hit a 2 pair and get check raised. i think if i reraise all ahnds would fold except mayb AK so i flat thinking his most likely range is bluffs. when he check shoves the turn i think he has the flush draw and is going for max fold equity. if i had AK id fold and that is what it would look like i had. but nooooo he flips TT for the turned set. fml...
dam so tilted im stopping for a while.

3 betting
i been trying to play much more agressive, notmally id fold hands like KJ AT 89s etc out of the blinds, especially if there was only a single late raiser, mainly because i see no value in these hands out of position - i either hit my KJ pair and win a small cbet or lose a big pot to AK or hit middle pair and fold the turn. Now ive just been 3betting them all, as long as the oponent looks like he could be just opening light to steal. thinking of all the times i open crap hands from the button and fold to a raise shows how often they would do it too. i have had varying success, but on the most part it seems to work well, furthermore i felt like it caused people to get pissed off with me and bluff me more postflop or call me down light. a lego poker video i watched today recommended some other video which talks alot about 3 betting so im guna watch that and see what it has to say. i think there is alot of money to be made by restealing late raises, or just plain taking the initiative in hands where a cbet in a 3bet pot gets alot of respect.
another sweet move ive never really used before is the tank call. say i flop a great hand like top set where i crush the board , id tank call the flop and it cause people to go crazy bluffing. here is an example. i tank called the flop and turn and trapped this guy:
in this one i 3bet from the blinds as i had been doing, and here the guy decides to take a stand and 4 bets me. i tank call his 4bet as i feel he is bluffing here nearly always. if he thinks im stealing light he would call with a big hand and try and get max value. by tank calling the flop he must think i have TT 99 or 88. because he turns a pair of Jacks and bets for value lol...he was a regular so its not like he was just a monkey clicking buttons.
my last hand is an example of a tough spot i sometimes found myself in. here i had no idea what the hell he had so i just folded. but i dont like not knowing whats going on so this hand annoyed me.
hopefully watching some more of these videos will be helpful. the ones i watched seemed pretty standard, and i even felt like they wernt doing some things right. the best one was watching a guy go through his hand history in a big tornament. i never realised how too tight i played in these things. he constantly stole blinds and kept his stack healthy. was pretty impressive.
Bankroll hasnt changed since yesterday....

more poker
yep, up to 11k hands at NL50. been going pretty good. not many kool hands to show really...

graph looks nice after a bit of an early mis-step. ive doubled my initial $600 deposit on the 14 November. pretty good hourly rate seeing as i havent even played that many long sessions. in total ive played 33 hours since then. although i am making no plans of moving up to NL100 any time soon, i wana spend a bit of time watching videos and trying new ideas at a limit that i feel comfortable at. even losing a $50 buyin hurts too much sometimes.
Tilt: $1260 (+$350)
Stars: $222.96
Total: $1833
Total gain since 15 Nov= $430
im thinking im ahead of luke by now. lucky we didnt count casino winnings!

lol casino
not such a good night at the office. lost $400 at the casino.
Hand 1: AK utg
riase $10, 1 caller
flop: AT9, i stack off $100 to his T9
Hand 2: 22 mid
donk raise utg, i call, multi way pot
flop: 245
he bets again, i call but no one else does.
turn: 245T
he bets , i raise all in......he shows TT set over set!
Hand 3: JJ early
raise $10 new guy who just posted shoves...
call and race AK, he hits a K
hand 4: AQ button
donk from earlier raises early as he was doing alot. i 3bet his $7 to $25, calls
flop: 763 all diamonds
i c-bet quite big, he just calls and i have $30 left...
turn:7632 three to flush still
he donks $30 into like $120. i fell like i MUST be drawing dead, he has a flush, straight or at least some crap pair. so i fold with my last $30. he shows A8! was chasing the 8 high flush and donked into me with the worst draw ever. so tilted....
So that was my night. pretty sucky
casino roll: -$350
good news is online is going well. my total bankroll is $1040 + $350 + $220 = $1610

Took a Shot
What a crazy session. Broke my record for the largest online pot 4 times. Pretty much all to one giant fish. probably the best fish ive seen online yet...
Started at 50NL. Seanpratt24 spewed nearly $300 away to the table. unfortunately i got none of it, due to him 'coolering' me several times. An example of his badness was him stacking off to me on a 97629 board, where i flopped the straight T8 and he had K6! Then he hit 2pair on a J72 board with his 72 to stack my AJ. Finally my turned set gave him a gutshot straight in another hand where i stacked off to... But after losing all his and my money back to other ppl at the table he decided to recoup his losses as all fish do, by moving up. He sits down at a 200NL table and of course i have to follow him.....
hand 1: Here i flop the effective nuts but get scared by the turn and call him down, $155 pot shipped my way.
Hand 2: now i get to lose my biggest ever pot, talk about a cooler - especially against this guy. I thought he would just have an Ace...
Hand 3: Revenge is mine with a $264 pot. I probably should have gotten more and just shipped the river, he would have called for sure...
Unfortunately after that he sat out and left. i finished up +100 from him which was sweet. Before all this i had my biggest NL50 pot. Easy game when you set over set someone...
Now im back in the positives, and most likely the lead in the bet. Casino tomorow and LAN tonight to keep me busy. Havent heard back from my job interview so i assume i missed it. Means i can keep living the dream of a bum.

He sits down at a 200NL table and of course i have to follow him.....

...
Small session today. Made some moeny back though. Even though i got set over set twice *spew*.
Genious play, or foolish noobness?
Villan was a tough reg, had been 3bet battling him for a while. SB was a HUGE fish.
He raises button and fish calls, i 3bet - hoping he folds and fish calls so i can stack him easily. he then 4bets. Now his range here is AA KK QQ JJ AK AQ AIR. I discount AA or KK, these hands are powerful enough to call me and see a flop with hopefully the fish in position. I think he would think about that. Same with QQ but he may 4bet this with our history. AK and AQ are likely as he would feel ahead of my blind steal range, and wouldnt want to just call and miss a flop. Also he could easily be bluffing as ive restolen a couple times.
So i call w JJ, on a low board i feel i would be ahead, and this keeps his bluffs in and i dont have to flip AK AQ. Flop is low, he c-bet half pot and i just call incase he wants to bluff rest of stack. I could have stuck it in here but nothing worse calls i guess. he flips AQ and i win a sweet hand.
Of course i could be overthinking this and just got lucky.....

Got like $45 of rakeback too which comes through at end of each week i think. And now im off to a LAN for the night

Got Kinda Owned
Had such a rough day. So many tough spots, so much 3betting. Regs at NL50 r definately more agressive. Guna take me a while to adjust my strategy.
Can you fold this? Was against a loose player too...Check flop as nothing worse will call, and I hoped it would look like I had a pair that got scared by A to induce a bluff.
Strange hand here. the donk on flop makes me believe he has no A, didnt put him on the flush after he calls 3bet. Though poorley played QQ JJ TT or something that didnt think i had A. He was a noob also. Hero call of faliure:
I suck out here... why he 3bets 77 against my utg i dont know. weird hand anyway, thought i was trapping as he was an agressive 3better.

Looks like luke could win the bet without playing a hand!

Average First Day of Bet
Had a swingy day, up a few then down a few buy ins. Just in general lame stuff like KK into AA, combo draws missing etc. Had some kool hands though...
Had a great cooler:
Here is the reverse then. He had a PFR of 5% so i called pre to crack, putting him on an overpair.
This would have been a good hand to hold up
Played this KK funky. Thought he was 3betting me light so went for trap. I assume i was right given action but it all works out.
Really put this guy on a KQ type hand. Went for max value...

Movin on Up
Moved up to NL50 today. Only played for a couple hours but made $230. Huge fish online and i was hitting cards to stack them. I got my bet starting with luke tomorow so hopefully this continues... $100 to the most earned from 15 nov to 15 dec.
A good call that holds up.
Massive cooler. Talk about run good
I gotta new account on Tilt to get the bonus and some rakeback. Transfered across $600 via a new credit card on as that was the max amount. Will put the other $350 on when i can. So my exact starting roll for the bet is:

Casino Trip #2
Another casino visit, and ive got rid of the negative bankroll sign. Was a pretty busy night with it being showday tomorow, and they were running some freeroll lottery. Sat at the same table as luke, we were pretty much oposite each other, a didnt clash at all. I played REALLY tight, tighter than i had planned but was pretty much card dead in between the few premium hands i picked up. Makes it easy to blog though cause i only played a few hands...
Hand 1: 1 hour into play, just rebought $20 to top up.
Pre: Q8
Limped to me on button by 4 ppl, i call just hoping to hit a big hand, 2pair or trips. take a flop 5or6 handed.
Flop: 358 two diamonds
first in stabs $10, called by two people, guy next to me motions like he is guna raise and then just calls. He is a donk so im putting him on a flush, or an 8 where my kicker would most likely be good, the original stabber (luke) would of limped utg so if he has an 8 it would be from a 98 78 T8 type hand which i am way ahead of.
I raise it to $35, for value and to pick up all of the dead money. folded to dude beside me, he knows im tight but he shoves. I knew he had a flush and made the easy call. It held up! Stack to $200
Hand 2:
Pre: AA
I dont even remember how this one went down atm, but I added around $150 to my stack
Hand 3:
Pre: QQ
Limped to me on button and i raise to $15, 2 callers, limper and bb.
Flop: KJx 2spades
I c-bet in position, alot of worse hands will call and i can see where im at.
Turn: blank KJxx
he checks and i check behind, i dont think anything worse than a K calls now, he was kinda solid player, not spewy.
River: check check, add ~$80 to my stack
Hand 4:
Pre: AA
$16 raise utg by an agressive guy, his agresive friend calls, folded to me in cutoff and i raise to $50. I am deep, and want them to call and play a huge pot with my AA, where we will be commited by the flop. BB from earlier calls my $50 and the both call. (pot $220)
Flop: KTx two hearts, i c-bet like $80, that would leave the biggest stack with $150. BB calls quick other two fold. He must have a stong K in my eyes, AK most likely to call that pre raise.
Turn: blank
I put him all in, $163 to be exact, he tank calls w KQ. Just shows how the players at the casino want any reason to call. He said after the QQ hand where i checked, this bet looked bluffy! I thought my hand was pretty face up but I was poised for a huge pot.
River: KING
New biggest pot of my life and i take a huge beat again. $500 shipped to the spew monkey.
Hand 5:
Pre: AK
raised utg to $15 and i call on the button. both blinds call.
Flop: T83 two clubs
Checked to utg, he checks and i check behind.
Turn: T83K three clubs , i have A of clubs
Agressive bb bets out pot, 1 call , i call.
With the completed flush i dont want to raise after 4 ppl saw the flop, furthermore KT is a hand that they would play for sure.
River: blank
Agressive guy shoves $60. up to me and im not sure about this call. I watch him and get a good tell. He is shuffling his cards and kind of grabing them like he is real keen to show. This is a sure sign of a weak hand. So i call with my AK and he shows K7. adds $100 to stack
Hand 6:
Pre: J9
limped to me on button, limp and its 7 people to flop
Flop: 48T raindbow
agressive guy stabs early, 2 callers and i just call. Some of these players will call with anything so i dont want to semi bluff in this spot, i have position for when straight hits i can get max value.
Turn: 48T4
checked to me and i check behind now, if someone had bet i would have folded with the paired board.
River: 48T4Q
Hit the straight, agressive guy bets out $15, a caller from fish beside me. i Raise to $40 and the fish calls. He doesnt show.
I finish the night up $255. Luke got off to a bad start, but finished up huge. We were the two big winners at the table and some other lady who was crap but hit some flops. Luke went for a all in squeeze and a all in draw hand early on which both backfired, and his AA got cracked by the same guy as me. But he hit some hands later on and chipped up well, helped by his slightly crazy image im sure. I played so incredibly tight i dont know how i got paid off every hand, but it just shows how bad these players are. I just wish i had won that huge pot, coulda bought something sweet with that $500. Anyway im just happy to erase the negative bankroll, and had a good night.

Nearly There
Another good day. Only played for about 5 hours but made some more $$$. Nearly at my $1000 goal where I plan to move up. Ive been trying some new "moves" in an effort to improve my redline. My sample size is only 5k but it seems to be working. Ive gone from a steady negative gradient to break even. I think a positive redline is a little ambitious at these stakes, where there is a lot of calling stations.
Anyway ive been looking for spots to:
-Squeeze; this is nearly always out of the blinds and requires a few things. The initial raser is opening wide from cutoff/button. I have the 'steal' stat on my HUD for this. Then the caller has to be a semi descent player, ie not a fish who will call my 3bet. This play nearly works 100% and i pick up 8-10 blinds with any two cards. I think it must look very powerful to raise over two ppl. If i get a caller, ill c-bet most boards.
-Punish the sb 'completer'; i raise it up to 5bb whenever the sb completes to me and i have a top 40%ish or so hand, then c-bet any flop. Anything else and ill fire the flop if checked to. Two barreling when appropriate. People that complete the sb are VERY weak nearly always.
-CheckRaise bluff; I only do this to regs (VIP:~15-25) and its usually from the blinds if the flop looks like it doesnt hit their range. If called ill generally give up unless i have a read. This is good for image anyway. If i call on the button id rather float than c-raise, then take it if checked too. When floating i make sure to at least have overcards or a gutter.
-Raise donk bets; this is probably pretty standard but if anyone donk bets ~1/3rd pot or less i raise really big. makes it look like im "serious" i guess. I used to just call and re-evaluate turn but then they just weak donked again and id give up. Im pretty sure most people do this type of bet to "bet for information". Fire second barrel if called unless the board is very drawy in which case they r probly calling so ill evaluate on river.
-Limp pot; whenever i hit a draw or something in a limped pot i just lead straight out into people with a pot bet. fire any turn aswell if there is only one caller. they nearly always give up or i hit my draw. i used to go for c-raise or check call here and i didnt seem to work well.
aaaaaaaaaaaanyway ill keep working on these and see how it goes. my biggest leak imo is getting in a robotic state of mind and not looking for good oportunities to squeeze etc. Heres my redline atm:

Heres my setup, hopefully i look back on this oneday and laugh at my mere 4 tabling noobness:

Hands of the day...
I think this was a good fold. At the time i was thinking of the 'tagfish' article i read. Have to think about what they think I have. And my line here looked very strong. Would put me on a big Ace for sure. He still shoves river so I can only assume he hit the flush, which was disapointing after i forced him to pay so much to get to the river. I very much doubt he was playing a weaker ace like this.
This guy was fishy, and I had a note "overbet all in bluffs river". Was still a tough call but it payed off. Without the note I would of layed it down for sure.
This hand was just brutal. I missclicked the button raise to begin with, but that meant i could call his 3bet as it was so cheap. Would normally fold KQ to 3bet. He leads flop and i put him on a big pair, his 3bet% was low. Dont want to reraise my draw as he is unlikely to fold it. hit my flush, he bets kinda small. If i raise here he could find a fold with the obvious flush...I call, it looks weak, im repping a low pair here like 66 which doesnt believe he has it. i want him to value bet river, this sets up a perfect shove for me and will look bluffy. it would have worked well but he miracles river :(
Off to another Cod LAN... new CoD game comes out tonight and there is a midnight launch *nerdgasm*. The only one ive been to b4 was a world of warcraft one and it was hillarious. i shouldnt hassle nerds, cause i am totally one of them! Got another job interview tomorow too. Real sweet company so i hope it goes well. Casino wed night too. Im praying for some run good. Have to get rid of that gross negative bankroll sign.

What goes up, must go up?
boy am I regreting not settling the prop bet with luke last night. Its going to be something like most money earned at end of month wins $100 off the other guy, but we havent settled on a start date and a few terms. So anyway today I play some pokers and make a cool $250. Just had good cards and played them well.
Graph from the last two days...Will this heater ever end?

No real interseting hands so ill just show some big pots...
they were both fishy which made this an easy call.
Hellmuth would have been proud of that trap.
A fish doing what a fish does best, giving me his money:
Would love to have known his through process there...
Just a weird hand:
Have been listening to the WSOP all day to which was pretty sweet, wont spoil it ofcourse.
Now only $150 to go before ill try moving up. Gota get round to making a new account too to get some rakeback. Ive already made $600 of rake with this latest run, and 30% of that in my pocket would have been a nice bonus. Aight, off to a CoD LAN. Being a bum rocks

Boring
Finished Uni WOOT! Latest poker update is a 6k break even. Seem to win a bunch of money through a steady stream of small pots then lose a huge pot to a fish suckout every time. Cant complain though have been running good. Joel was around and was laughing at some situations i was in, oh those crazy fish!
So gross.
I think this was joels favourite hand. I check turn to him because these players ALWAYS seem to bet turn if you check it to them. How I got it all in verse this hand ill never know....
I play this hand sooooo bad. Bad flop c-bet, and river reraise (was a PL game which explains small preflop raise). Put this up as a punishment to my self for being so noob.
Final hand. Only 8 hands on the guy but he seemed bad. I never know what to do in these situations if its a decent player and he bets turn after a c-raise, normally fold. Liked this hand cause I got good value. After the check on the turn it looked like an A was his most likely holding, and he was reraising cause he has top pair! Thought my Q kicker was most often good.
If he leads turn though what do you do???

I play this hand sooooo bad. Bad flop c-bet, and river reraise (was a PL game which explains small preflop raise). Put this up as a punishment to my self for being so noob.
Final hand. Only 8 hands on the guy but he seemed bad. I never know what to do in these situations if its a decent player and he bets turn after a c-raise, normally fold. Liked this hand cause I got good value. After the check on the turn it looked like an A was his most likely holding, and he was reraising cause he has top pair! Thought my Q kicker was most often good.
If he leads turn though what do you do???

Heater Continues
Having a good run at NL25. Heres my stats from 4 days of play, starting to get a sample size going. Have been playing pretty loose, opening tonnes from cuttoff and button. Any Ax Kx QX suited, offsuit connecters, suited 2 gappers or better. Good sign is graph is going up steady:

That huge heater at the start was phenom day btw. Must of ran like god.
Some hands:
Mmmmmm run good....
Call this one karma then
Last one is best. Well felt cool at the time. Guy had a 3bet of 30%. Squeezed every oporunity he had. Was a maniac but no one played back. I 4bet bluff on button once, he was in blind bu he shoved. Layed a few more down to his 3bet then pulled a masterfull bluff imo:
Then i finished his stack few hands later. Was satisfying
Bankrolls:
Stars: $220
Tilt: $610
Casino: -$200

Internet Pokers
Finally, uni has slowed down and its time for some serious grinding. First session in like 6 months was the other week, "Phenom Day". Start with $50 and race the other 10 people in the room to the highest amount by the end of the night.
My strat was to grind the cash games of course. Made a new account on Tilt and got the HoldemManager deal. 4 tabling 10NL got me up to $100 pretty quick. Then I moved onto 4 25NL tables which is where I stayed until the 12 hours of play was up, finishing with $280 and second place. Shicka was the winner with like $340, after chopping a big torney win for ~$200. I think I ran really good to do so well though. Looking through the hands I really had no big losses. No interesting hands either. I only just learned about the 'save a hand for later' function in HM so I captuerd a few since then.
Been playing poker most of this weekend. My goal obviously is to get the bankroll up and move to some serious limits. NL25 is going pretty good. After Phenom Day and 2 days of grind, Tilt account is at $450. Here is my graph so far:

Had a really good table that just broke up, full of deep fishies. Here was the first big pot after I just doubled up. Note the expert use of the min raise by myself...
Then I had a bigger one verse the even worse fish, 200bb with TPTK had me holding my breath though...
This one is just for humour value, call the short stack shove with my A8 cause he was a baddie. Then the idiot next to me spazzes out. Get pretty much a dream flop considering the hands shown but lose in a disgusting manor really.
Finally my food for thought hand. Was versing this guy on 2 tables and had ~500 hands on eachother. These were the deepstack ante tables btw. Anyway we were both really agressive against eachother, 3betting alot preflop. I got caught by him in a 150bb bluff a little earlier so im sure he has no respect for me. Get this hand... Wish I knew how to do that vote thing cause the turn could be played multiple ways. I think I did the right thing given the image we had of each other.
On flop I re-raise smallish to induce a shove was the plan from memory. He just calls and im left with 50% of my stack in the pot when an ugly card hits on turn.
Hmm hope those worked... Off to bed, happy grinding fools

First Casino
Friend (luke) plays poker in my games and is a good loose player. plays online alot and seems to be doing well. well me and him go to the casino to play poker $1/2 blinds w $100 buy in which is a bit weird but seemed to work alright. huge fish everywhere litterally giving their money away, one guy shoved 5 hands pretty much in a row on bluff ofcourse. i hit some great hands but the suckouts were flying. hands are not in exact order...
3rd hand in i get AA
raise to like $12 get a caller or two.
flop J 8 2
i c-bet and a fishy looking guy calls
turn: j 8 2 K
i bet again and he calls, i have around $50 behind
river was a low blank and i shove, he folds and doesnt show
next hand i get JJ and get it all in pf verse a guy who turned out to be descent, but he only had a stay of $40ish so i just 4bet him all in. had QQ
folded alot then get AJs earlyish
riase $10 few callers, 2 of them huge fish
flop: 8 9 T, giving me flush draw, open ender and overcards.
fish bets, other fish all in , me all in , fish all in
hit my outs
dont know what they had, probably just a pair or air knowing these guys.
now i have a good stack like $450 and am feeling pretty good
had a hand verse luke...
limped to me by a couple ppl on the button. i limp w A6s
luke in sb raises to like $8. weird raise as it gets noone to fold and now he has a big pot oop verse like 4 ppl. anyway i call after everyone else.
flop:AKT luke c-bets into everyone which looks pretty strong but i have to call one with top pair in position.
turn is a blank and luke checks, i check behind...im either way ahead or way behind here i think , keep pot small is plan.
river: AKTxQ luke bets half pot and i fold, he shows KJ for pair+gut on flop
just thought this was weird hand and i write it down so i can ask him bout it sometime, makes no sense to 3bet small then fire into 4ppl with a pretty vulnerable hand oop...
fold alot and get AA again.
agressive young guy raises early and i reraise in position $18 or so, we r both deep
he calls and flop comes Kxx with flush draw, he donks $2...
he either has a weak hand but more likely a draw here, id seen him do this before
i raise full pot, knowing he likes to chase/gamble
turn is blank and he donks $2 again
i overbet him all in and he moans some bullshit then says LETS GAMBLE, im happy as he calls
rivers flush ofcourse, i lose like $200
soo i open pot for $12 w KQ and fishy guy to my left calls, he has like $70 flop: KQx , i c-bet and he shoves , i call and flip over top two "gunna need me some runner runner" he says turn and river both come KQx55 he shows K5 for runner runner boat. 0.3% chance of him winning that hand. awesome ...
played this next hand pretty bad, i think that runner boat affected me.
got KK on button and had been some limpers. i make it like $16 and get 3 callers.
flop: AA4 rainbow, well this is a bad flop with all these callers
agressive young guy from earlier bets $7 into like $45 so i just call on button everyone folds.
turn is blank and this time he bets $50
now im thinking that small flop bet ment weak hand earlier but as i just called maybe he is now trying to bluff me off hand. so i call this big bet
river is AA4xT and he checks, i check behind and he shows an A rag. says he thought i was trapping him or something. probably should have folded to the 50 bet looking back just because there was 3 callers and one of these fools is going to have A rag if im holdiong no ace, o well hindsight.
playing this hand like that actually snapped me out of this tempory tilt and i folded a bunch of hands to tighten up, play all around me was pretty crazy so just had to wait for premiums.
solid looking new guy raises early, fish calls and i just call in sb w KQs
flop: Kxx giving me flush draw and TPGK
solid c-bets, fish massive overbet shoves, i call...solid guy lays down worse king than me :(
fish shows AA, which he slowplayed pf for some reason, its a flip pretty much
i dont hit an out, $100 or so lost
have like $80 now ( i rebought $100 in there somewhere)
im in bb or sb and whole table limps, i complete or check w 34o.
flop: A25 flopped nut straight, flush draw possible
i check....checked to button who bets $20, i shove, he calls
he has flush draw and hits , i curse
i leave $200 down but should have been up so much more, o well its poker. luke has a good night, made like $130. i remember he took a bit of a bad beat in there somewhere but some loud drunk guy gave him alot of chips. he even chucked like $30 into lukes stack at one point.
Fun night, plan to go back many times when uni is over!

24hr cash game
24 hour cash game the other day through club pokersoc. Got there at like 1pm and stayed till 3am. NL50 with mostly the usual crew. Though I played really well but still finished even. Heres some hands i remember:
tight good player raises button, fish in sb calls, i call A3 suited.
flop:
A 3 4
good player c-bets $4 , fish calls, i raise $16.
he reraises $35 with about 20 behind.
though for a while but i think i had to push... could easily have AK here, guy prob thought i was a bad with A10 or something.
he had 44.
very loose UTG limps, few callers i check my bb (Q8)
flop: Q 8 6
i check, utg raise, i reraise, he shoves total of about $60. insta call of course, this guy could easily have TPTK and think its the nuts, prob is with his image but anyway.
he has AA, rivers an A for top set.
tight player raises early $2.5, fish sb calls, i call w 33
flop : 10 8 3 two clubs
tighty c-bets big, im thinking over pair right now. Fish min raises... I call to trap hopefully, slightly risky w flush but want the tight guy to push. he just calls.
turn 6o
fish shoves his last $20 or so.
i think then re-shove, tight guy has about $50 left and i have him covered
he folds and shows nut flush draw
fish had 10 6 for the turned 2 pair...
made about $60 here
win quite a few pots just by 2 barrelling w my tight image on good boards against players who i know respect my image, 3-bet a very loose agressive player to my right often and he pays me off when i get a hand. could see he gets frustrated when he cant open every pot
friend luke wasnt hitting any flops and was getting in a large hole.
he raised earlyish and i call w 77
flop of Q T 7
he bets i just call, he is prtty bluffy sometimes and i think this board has a high chance of missing him.
turn T giving me a full house. this is a pretty bad card for me cause if he had a Q its going to look like i just caught up. He checks i check behind hoping to get value on river, or induce bluff.
River blanks and he bets out 1/2 pot. I think and then reraise him 3x.
He tanks a bit but makes a good laydown of AQ, think it was first pair i seen him hit all night so i applaud his tilt control.
final hand i remember has me raise early $2.25 (JJ) and get two callers, one loose average player and one fish.
flop : 10 4 2 rainbow good flop for me, they will call several bets w just a T for sure
i bet out $6.50 loose guy calls quickly , im thinking he has a good T, fish overcalls
turn is a 5 diamonds putting flush draw out there.
i bet again $15, loose guy tanks and folds . later shows KT but said he put me on a big hand.
fish shoves and i insta call. he shows T6 for top pair w flush draw. he shoved like $20 more so no fold equity at all.
turn is a diamond and the happy bad rakes it in.
also flopped a straight on a 3 suit flop and got it all in vs A high flush draw, he hit.
good player raised UTG and i 3bet w AQs
he calls, he is solid so im thinking he must have something good
flop: KQ4
he checks and i check behind, just to control pot cause i could easily not be ahead here. not too many scare cards can come for me either.
turn: KQ4Q
now he bets out into me and i call, pretty sure ive got him but he is very agressive so ill let him take another shot before i raise.
river: KQ4QK
horrible card for me, he checks though so i put out a small bet, thinking back i should have mayb checked behind because not much worse would call me here from a good player.
he c-raises and i sadly fold.
Shows KQ so i guess the K actually saved me. bit of a suckout flop for him...a simple Q high would have been nice, i wouldnt have put him on KQ either cause imo its a terrible hand to call 3bets oop as its always dominated if there is action. o well
all in all i think i played pretty good but just ran bad, god dam flush draws always seem to make it. forgot the hands but i got it in a couple more times ahead and lost, could have been a big winning night had most of them held. o well good fun.
tight good player raises button, fish in sb calls, i call A3 suited.
flop:
A 3 4
good player c-bets $4 , fish calls, i raise $16.
he reraises $35 with about 20 behind.

First Blog
Decided to start this blog on the advice of a mate just to track my progress hopefully for many years to come... Also i have a terrible memory so writing stuff down should be key.
Summary:
Started playing probably just over a year ago. First went to small cash games and have since started an online account (Deftona). Progress online has been pretty standard. Played sot'n'goes with my frst $50 which I seemed to do pretty good at even though i pretty much just played my cards. Get to like $300 but eventually go busto cause im shit. Then stop playing and read alot of poker stuff, watch deuces cracked videos and start to get alot better. New $50 and im at NL10 2 tabling. Get to $400 with a very steady graph of 10bb/100. Have learnt to 4 table by now. Move up NL25 where they r just as bed but somehow i lose most of my roll. Back to NL10 where i am now to build up but have been very busy with uni so havent had much time. 2 weeks to go then im hoping to play alot more. Also go to a live game every few weeks NL50, think im about even after playing there around 10 times. Game is pretty soft, but there are some good agressive players.
