Internet Pokers

Finally, uni has slowed down and its time for some serious grinding. First session in like 6 months was the other week, "Phenom Day". Start with $50 and race the other 10 people in the room to the highest amount by the end of the night.

My strat was to grind the cash games of course. Made a new account on Tilt and got the HoldemManager deal. 4 tabling 10NL got me up to $100 pretty quick. Then I moved onto 4 25NL tables which is where I stayed until the 12 hours of play was up, finishing with $280 and second place. Shicka was the winner with like $340, after chopping a big torney win for ~$200. I think I ran really good to do so well though. Looking through the hands I really had no big losses. No interesting hands either. I only just learned about the 'save a hand for later' function in HM so I captuerd a few since then.

Been playing poker most of this weekend. My goal obviously is to get the bankroll up and move to some serious limits. NL25 is going pretty good. After Phenom Day and 2 days of grind, Tilt account is at $450. Here is my graph so far:

Had a really good table that just broke up, full of deep fishies. Here was the first big pot after I just doubled up. Note the expert use of the min raise by myself...

Then I had a bigger one verse the even worse fish, 200bb with TPTK had me holding my breath though...

This one is just for humour value, call the short stack shove with my A8 cause he was a baddie. Then the idiot next to me spazzes out. Get pretty much a dream flop considering the hands shown but lose in a disgusting manor really.

Finally my food for thought hand. Was versing this guy on 2 tables and had ~500 hands on eachother. These were the deepstack ante tables btw. Anyway we were both really agressive against eachother, 3betting alot preflop. I got caught by him in a 150bb bluff a little earlier so im sure he has no respect for me. Get this hand... Wish I knew how to do that vote thing cause the turn could be played multiple ways. I think I did the right thing given the image we had of each other.

On flop I re-raise smallish to induce a shove was the plan from memory. He just calls and im left with 50% of my stack in the pot when an ugly card hits on turn.

Hmm hope those worked... Off to bed, happy grinding fools

  1. Hey, nice blog. But if I may say it, your 3bet out of the blinds with the AK hand vs 200bb fish is significantly too small. Can go like 3.50$ there, especially against a fish where you're more likely to be called. Also, betting turn stronger makes river shove much more callable. Happy hunting!

  2. And just 3bet ship the last hand. Not deep enough to get cute imo.
