...

Small session today. Made some moeny back though. Even though i got set over set twice *spew*.

Genious play, or foolish noobness?

Villan was a tough reg, had been 3bet battling him for a while. SB was a HUGE fish.
He raises button and fish calls, i 3bet - hoping he folds and fish calls so i can stack him easily. he then 4bets. Now his range here is AA KK QQ JJ AK AQ AIR. I discount AA or KK, these hands are powerful enough to call me and see a flop with hopefully the fish in position. I think he would think about that. Same with QQ but he may 4bet this with our history. AK and AQ are likely as he would feel ahead of my blind steal range, and wouldnt want to just call and miss a flop. Also he could easily be bluffing as ive restolen a couple times.
So i call w JJ, on a low board i feel i would be ahead, and this keeps his bluffs in and i dont have to flip AK AQ. Flop is low, he c-bet half pot and i just call incase he wants to bluff rest of stack. I could have stuck it in here but nothing worse calls i guess. he flips AQ and i win a sweet hand.
Of course i could be overthinking this and just got lucky.....

  1. I like playing hands like that as well. But I get into trouble and you tell me off. Cos hes got odds if u shove the flop. He has 25% equity, and will need to call $20 to win $80. So if he folds I think its good for you. Also hes more likely to shut down when he misses the turn. The K was a good card cos it only gave him a gutshot and it was a scare card.
