had an awesome night at the cash game. buy in $200, 50NL but straddle half the time. i play good, not hitting much but making money somehow. lost $60 to a bluff verse luke, was bad...i didnt raise enough. he did a tiny river bet and it threw me off.so about 11.45 and im at $280ish
i had a weird hand verse some guy. he limps cutoff and i limp 67o on button, micha rasies but we both call. KT2 and micha checks, dude bets and i think he must be stealing. wat can he limp here that is strong? i raise - he reraises to $120. i seriously consider shoving but he could have JQ and i dont have enough to make it a laydown for a draw. if he calls with JQ im way behind. i think if i have a pair i shove. he says he has 22, but y would he limp cutoff. hmm but y would he limp with anything... i think he plays online, baffling
then i got destroyed by the man himself, who was on the heater of his life ofcourse :)
1st hand, straddle, raise utg and 2 calls, im button with QQ. i call. frenchy to act, he is short and tilting and loves to 3bet. luke in bb. he may 3bet but he is not my target. micha on the straddle. tilting harcore and with a short stack, im sure he cant resist this setup. luke makes it $15, not the greatest but o well ill call in position. micha shoves. GOD DAMMIT! now i know ive got micha, but i have to put in $67 to see if i have luke too. hes sitting back in his chair, looks confident. could mean he is insta mucking, could mean he has AA. i call. luke makes it $150 and i snap fold. son of a bitch has AA of course and micha Ax. flop brings a queen!!!
4 hands later. im in the straddle with QQ. 7 handed and luke raises utg to $3. i have $200 exactly. a caller and i reraise to $14. luke makes it $40. um thats not the greatest but its an easy call. i had made some stupid comment about him respecting my raises b4 i saw my QQ so he could just be playing around after winning a big pot. flop is AJx, i check and he thinks a bit and checks. his range here is easy. AK AQ,KK, pot control this deep as im not calling with worse. missed air: this board hits my range he might give up. his range is NOT JJ as he would bet cause i likely have an A. he could have AA but there is an A on the board and he just had AA. i mean who gets it twice in 1 orbit??? blank turn and he bets $30. now i should just fold here but its so small i have to call. im 80% sure he has AK the rest is air. river is a T and he shoves $120. TT is also not in his range as he calls my 3bet 100% with it deep. his only hand is AA or air. AK would definately not shove this scary board. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh and i call cause i wana own him haha. looking back i realise he was acting hardcore. started talking and let his voice crack haha. glanced at me several times then looked away. ahh its so obvious afterwards. well played sir. AA v QQ twice in an orbit is sooo sick. especially verse luke
how the hell am i suppost to get to sleep for work, im fuming! could care less about the money but y did it have to be luke i lose to by getting trapped :( o well i guess id rather lose it to him than some nit. ah its so annoying some of the guys that come, and usually win dont even straddle. i mean comon its a homegame

I was wonderin about that 67o hand up the top, Im sure he didnt have 22. That boards not very scary. So it would be fine to call and raise turn possibly. I thought it looked like he had QJ last night. I was wondering why you folded a king. Haha, but 67o, thats ok. He doesnt call very often. Always raising.
ReplyDeleteI reakon its really good situation to straddle. That deep raising UTG with a good hand isnt very effective. Also if someone raises and gets a few callers, and you wake up with 910s or something in straddle position it is a good situaion to check raise and barrel good boards. Just being that deep its not that big of a deal. Plus its only a dollar.
